CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. (WJLA) – Authorities say that a student assault two others with a knife Thursday morning at Central High School in Prince George’s County.

ABC7′s Brad Bell reported and Prince George’s County Police later confirmed that the two students were hospitalized after being cut or stabbed by the other student. That student has since turned himself in and was being interviewed by police, authorities say.

Bell reports that at least one of the victims had a “superficial wound” and another was cut in the abdomen. Police say the three students got into a fight because of an “interpersonal dispute” in a school hallway which led to one of them attacking the other two with a 2- to 3-inch knife.

All the students’ injuries are non-life threatening, police say. The suspect got a minor cut on his hand, Bell reported. Authorities say they are continuing to investigate the incident and are working to determine what started the fight.

Central High School is located at 200 Cabin Branch Road in Capitol Heights. Officials say there is no current danger at the school and that all other students have returend to class and will finish out the normal school day. Police say officers will stay at Central High School for the rest of the day and the school says they have added extra security.

School officials said they do not know how the student got the knife inside the school and that there are no current plans to add metal detectors to every school entrance.
